Sarajevo International Airport is located just 12 kilometers from the center of Sarajevo. It connects the city with numerous European destinations, and through major international hubs—such as Istanbul, Vienna, Berlin, Munich, and Zurich—with the rest of the world. The airports in Tuzla and Mostar, both located about a two-hour drive from Sarajevo, host flights from several low-cost airlines.

Railway transport in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not yet sufficiently modernized or popular, but it represents a safe, reliable, and affordable way to travel, especially for budget-conscious travelers.

Although train speeds and infrastructure are outdated in some parts, the railway offers a stable alternative to road transport, with the added benefit of environmental sustainability.

Sarajevo is connected by a direct line to Zagreb, and through Zagreb to the rest of Europe.

The price of a one-way ticket for the Sarajevo – Zagreb route is 61 BAM, while a return ticket costs 97.3 BAM, making this line particularly cost-effective for international travel.
