4. Kaiser knedle

Colorful dumplings with tasty fillings are attractive enough on their own, and when you throw in pink walls decorated with paintings, mirrors and floral arrangements, as well as furniture that looks like it’s straight out of a dollhouse, you can be sure that whatever angle you shoot from, your photos will attract many followers to your profile.

5. Andar

There is a place on Sarači, the street that leads you through Sarajevo's old town, where you can have some excellent Bosnian coffee, and it's decorated with unusual ornaments – shoes of all different shapes, sizes and colors. Back in 1933, what is now Andar Cafe used to be a shop that sold and repaired shoes. You can read more about the history of this place and the cobbling trade from the menus that are made from – as you can probably guess! – the soles of shoes.

6. Yu Caffe

Tourists can sometimes end up going from one end of town to the other (from Baščaršija to Ilidža) by taking a picturesque ride on Tram No. 3, and all because of Yu Caffe. As one of the few places to preserve the memory of the spirit of socialism in Sarajevo, it is decorated with plenty of items from the SFR Yugoslavia period, all of which serve as terrific photo backdrops, and almost every item on display in this little “museum” has an interesting story to tell. What's more, Yu Caffe produces its own beer, which is a must-try.

7. Secret Garden

As the name suggests, you might have trouble finding the entrance to this hidden garden in the heart of Baščaršija, but it’s worth a try. The interior, which is a non-smoking zone, is decorated with floral designs and arrangements, and the garden is a lovely, colorful world with plenty of details that will wake up the photographer in you.

8. Pivnica HS

One of the most recognizable beer halls in Sarajevo will remind you of the time when this region was under Austro-Hungarian rule. Here you can try the Sarajevo beer that has been made in our city for the past 155 years, and the grand interior, which is dominated by gold and red, will be an excellent backdrop for photographs.

9. Nafaka

This is another place that is hidden in the heart of the old town, just a few steps from Sebilj. What makes this cafe-tea house special is that they offer you a chance to try on some clothing from the Ottoman period, and then you can take a picture of yourself drinking coffee or tea while wearing the attire. During the summer, they have a great outdoor seating area in the shade, providing a break from the high summer temperatures.

10. Orient Cafe

You will be greeted by the oriental ambience of Orient Cafe at Malak Regency Hotel, with its lovely decorated walls and tables that remind one of Moorish culture, which also inspired the architects who designed Sarajevo's most recognizable attraction – Vijećnica. The comfortable seating and ideal lighting will help make your photos perfect.

11. Marshall's Gelato

Whether you are up for some fantastic gelato, which is available all year round, or some fine coffee or tea, Marshall's Gelato is definitely the place to visit. From the flowery ceiling and green walls, to the large mirrors and colorful treats, it's as though the interior has been made especially for Instagram photography.

12. Franz & Sophie

In closing out our list, we have deliberately left one place, which, at first glance, could not readily be included among classic places to go out, but looks can be deceiving! With a laid-back atmosphere and interior, which is full of large tins of tea, fancy tea cups and tea pots..., you can enjoy many kinds of teas which are found nowhere else in Sarajevo, learn more about this magical beverage, read a book or, of course, take some outstanding photos.
