Top Parties for Halloween Night in Sarajevo

This year, Sarajevo will already be celebrating Halloween by this Friday, October 26, and we have selected the most interesting Halloween-themed parties for those who love masquerades.

The large number of events taking place all over town shows that Halloween is becoming a more popular theme in Sarajevo, and organizers have tried, not only to come up with some interesting ideas for parties, but also to offer good prizes for the best costumes.

Halloween is a Celtic holiday that comes right before All Saints’ Day (November 1), and it is believed that, at this time, the veil between the world of the dead and the living is at its thinnest. Basically, the Celts believed that on the night of October 31 the dead would leave their graves to visit their dear ones. In order to scare away evil spirits, the living would dress up as scary figures and make noise. Today, this night is an occasion to show one’s creativity and to have some good fun while wearing masks.

This year, the big thematic Mucha Lucha Party – the Dia De Los Muertos Party – will get things going. This event will be held at Kino Bosna on Friday, October 26, starting at 8:00 p.m. The interior of this cult Sarajevo cinema will feature special decor; popular local DJs, Mahir Neat House, Splein and Hazer, will be responsible for the music; and the organizers have tons of prizes lined up, including 2000KM for the best costume. Admission to this event costs 12KM.

Meeting Point Cinema will be marking the occasion by showing the cult film Halloween on Saturday, October 30 at 8:00 p.m.

The last day of October, the official date of Halloween, will see the most events taking place, so starting at 8:30 p.m., Underground will be offering free make-up to those who didn’t manage to do themselves up, or didn’t have the inspiration to get ready for the night. Throughout the evening, visitors will enjoy rock hits and have a chance to win prizes for the most imaginative masks.

That night, Ice Cocktail & Snack Bar will be serving (beginning at 8:00 p.m.), which will have you losing your costumes and walking around like zombies. The organizers have some special treatment in store for those who come dressed up as local politicians.
