Sarajevo Airport welcomes its two-millionth passenger of 2026

This impressive milestone also carries strong symbolism. The passenger landed in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina on a direct Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt – one of the key European hubs that keep Sarajevo connected to the world. The occasion is all the more special because Lufthansa is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, a century of connecting cultures around the globe.

A Sarajevo-style welcome: from the clouds to the Trebević viewpoint

As befits hosts with the unmistakable Sarajevo spirit, the welcome came with prizes that celebrate travel and the city’s most beautiful landmarks:

Lufthansa presented the lucky passenger with a free return ticket for her next adventure.
JP Sarajevo provided an exclusive gift voucher for two for a ride on the Sarajevo Cable Car and a visit to the magnificent City Hall (Vijećnica).
