Renzo Piano sends emotional message to Sarajevo as Ars Aevi Museum construction begins

"Dear citizens of Sarajevo, the start of construction of the Ars Aevi Museum fills me with joy. This museum is a symbol of the strength of a city that has always looked to the future through culture. It is a project born out of solidarity and the belief that art can bring people together and build bridges. I hope Ars Aevi will become a home open to everyone, especially young people. I send you my warmest greetings and sincerest congratulations."

The Ars Aevi collection now includes around 150 works of art, featuring pieces by internationally acclaimed artists such as Marina Abramović, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Jannis Kounellis, Joseph Beuys, and many others.

Part of the collection is currently on display in the depot at Sarajevo City Hall (Vijećnica), while the construction of the new museum will finally provide this unique collection with its permanent home.
