Giro Di Ćiro: Sarajevo – Pale

Thanks to a European Union investment, this historic route has been revived as a modern outdoor attraction, connecting people, communities, and the untouched nature of the Miljacka Canyon.The adventure begins in front of the iconic Vijećnica (City Hall), guides you through the beloved Dariva pedestrian zone, and officially hits the historic tracks at the Vrelo života (Spring of Life) site, ending near the old railway station in Pale.

Riding through nine restored stone tunnels and across two bridges feels like a movie scene, offering the perfect escape from summer heat into deep shade. With its gentle railway incline, the trail is ideal for recreational cyclists and families.

PRO TIP: Don't have a bike? You can easily rent e-bikes in the city to breeze through the climbs. For those seeking a bigger challenge with an even bigger reward, we recommend continuing to Ravna Planina. Take the gondola to the top, and on your way back, take the forest trail toward the Source of the Miljacka. There, you can rest by the icy-cold waters of the very river that symbolizes Sarajevo.
