Tito Museum Sarajevo - Yugoslavia
The Tito Museum (Tito – Sarajevo – Yugoslavia) in Sarajevo, located at Ferhadija street number 13, is the first private museum dedicated to the life and work of Josip Broz Tito, as well as to life in Sarajevo during Yugoslavia under his rule.
The museum's exhibition is rich with authentic memorabilia from the SFRY era – from Yugoslav flags, busts and portraits of Tito, partisan exhibits and decorations, to retro items from everyday life (old money, newspapers, technical devices, and household items from that period).
In addition to physical exhibits, the exhibition uses a more modern concept where explanations, historical facts, stories, and video recordings are accessed via QR codes that visitors can scan with their smartphones.
The museum is designed as an automated/self-service space – tickets are purchased at the entrance via a machine (payment is exclusively by card, no cash), and there is no permanent staff inside the museum.
It consists of several rooms within the facility on Ferhadija, making it an accessible and quick stop for anyone who wants to feel a breath of nostalgia or learn more about the history of the 20th century in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
