Highly recommended! Wonderful museum. It’s a really important counterpoint to the museums with focus on wars. It has a vivid, humane vibe. First, I learnt a lot here. From Yugoslav architects such as Juraj Neidhart to Sevdalinka Bosnian music, I learnt things about the culture of Bosnia and the region. Second, the museum itself was well laid out, warm, joyful and youthful. It’s cool that it is in a former nightclub, which adds some interesting ambience. You are left feeling like you actually experienced Yugoslav and Sarajevo across decades. It reflects Sarajevo as the complicated, but cool, city it always has been. I have been in Sarajevo a few weeks - this was truly one of my favorite museums. The owner is also lovely, friendly and gave interesting recommendations. Everyone visit!
More for locals.
Fun dive into city's history in the most fun way... I especially liked New primitives section
A very positive museum about Sarajevo's "golden era" between World War II and the 1992 war over the former territory of Yugoslavia. The 1984 Winter Olympics were particularly moving. Highly recommended and varied.
