The Crucible

The Crucible, directed by Oliver Frljić, is performed on Friday, 9 October 2026, at the National Theatre Sarajevo, starting at 19:30, as part of the Main Programme.

Miller’s multiply coded allegory, which in its day struck at McCarthyism, frenzied persecution, collective paranoia and small obediences, keeps demanding an answer to where exactly all that is to be found today. Public snarling, inventing enemies, noise and lies as the foundation of a community – the production refuses to let Salem remain a prehistoric American backwater that “we” need not compare ourselves to.

Cast: Nikolina Prkačin, Ugo Korani, Dado Ćosić, Adrian Pezdirc, Petra Svrtan, Milivoj Beader, Hrvojka Begović, Ivan Jurković and Linda Begonja (guest). Produced by Zagreb Youth Theatre (Croatia). Running time: 130 minutes.

Tickets are on sale via kupikartu.ba and at all official outlets.
