It's a very beautiful place.
I stopped by the front of the Isa-begova tekija on January 11, 2026. The road was snowy and steep, so I was being careful as I walked. While going downhill, I noticed the flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Türkiye. As I approached the gate, I saw a cleaning worker on the steps at the entrance, clearing the snow and ice that had frozen over the stairs. I was surprised that he spoke English very well, and he treated me very kindly. It was one of the 3 most beautiful moments I experienced in Sarajevo in this trip. He invited me to attend the Mesnevi gathering, which takes place on Tuesday evenings after the night (Isha) prayer. I told him, “Next time.” So if you also come on a Tuesday evening after the Isha prayer, you can experience the Mesnevi at this tekke. The building is supported by Konya Selçuklu Municipality and TİKA.
Pripadala je mevlevijskom tarikatu (derviškom redu), koji je nastao nakon smrti islamskog teologa i mislioca Dželaluddina Rumija, autora čuvene Mesnevije.
Tekija je prvi put uništena prilikom pohoda Eugena Savojskog na Sarajevo, 1697. godine.
Obnovio ju je, 1781. godine, osmanski namjesnik Vedžihi-paša, da bi je komunističke vlasti potpuno uništile 1957. godine.
Ponovnu izgradnju tekije Sarajlijama je u amanet (naslijeđe) ostavio imam Careve džamije hadži hafiz Halid ef. Hadžimulić, koji je živim održao tumačenje Rumijeve Mesnevije u Sarajevu.
Nova tekija izgrađena je u sklopu Memorijalnog kompleksa Kovači, ispod Žute tabije.
Gradnja je finansirana donacijom općine Selcuklu iz turske Konye, a tekija je otvorena u proljeće 2013. godine.
